Bail Bondsman Will Not Get New Trial

Posted Updated

ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. — A bail bondsman convicted of having a gun on school property will not get a new trial.

Gerald Haskins was chasing a fugitive at Efland Cheeks Elementary School in Orange County in 2001 when he was arrested. Last year, he was convicted of felony gun possession on school property.

Haskins challenged the conviction, but the state Court of Appeals found no problems with his trial.
