Two Cumberland Jail Inmates Charged With Drug Possession

Posted Updated

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — There is another black eye for the Cumberland County jail.

Investigators have charged two inmates with possession of crack cocaine -- Ebony Shanique and Tony Huckabee.

Investigators say one of them actually got the drugs from another inmate who smuggled them past intake officers.

This incident is the latest controversy surrounding the jail. Recently, two inmates were released by mistake and two jailers were charged with having sex with inmates.

Sheriff Earl "Moose" Butler said there may soon be some changes at the jail.
