WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — The weapon used to kill a popular Wake County teacher may be at the bottom of Jordan Lake.
Myron Britt is charged with murdering his wife, Nancy. Nancy Britt was at her sister's Lumberton home when she was shot.
Investigators say Myron Britt acknowledged having a .25-caliber handgun, but he claims to have tossed it into the lake before his wife's death.
Lumberton police say they do not plan to dive for the gun because they have been unable to pinpoint where it may be.
