CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Remains found in western Cumberland County over the weekend fit the profile of a missing Fayetteville man, according to officials.
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said Daryl Eugene Avery, 39, has been missing for five months.Medical examiners in Chapel Hill are working to identity the remains.
Two people on horseback found the skeleton Sunday evening south of Raeford Road.
Avery was last seen by his family on on April 16.
