Durham Police Ask For Information On Assault/Robbery

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police investigators are asking for information about an assault androbbery that occurred Tuesday morning at the Kmart Plaza on Avondale Drive.

The 37-year-old victim drove up to an ATM to withdraw cash around 6:30 a.m.A man standing near the ATM told the victim to "give it up." A second manthen stabbed the victim in the abdomen with an unknown weapon. The suspectsrobbed the victim of his wallet and jewelry.

The victim was taken to Duke University Medical Center for treatment of hisinjuries, which did not appear to be life-threatening.

One suspect was described as a black male, 16 to 19 years old, 5 feet 7inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and 150 to 165 pounds. He had a light browncomplexion, a mustache and goatee and uncombed hair. He was wearing a Kingsball cap, a green T-shirt and blue jeans.

The second suspect was described as a black male, 16 to 19 years old, 5 feet11 inches to 6 feet 1 inches tall with a large build. He had a darkcomplexion and a mustache and goatee. He was wearing a white ball cap, awhite T-shirt and blue jeans.
