PERSON COUNTY, N.C. — The Person County Sheriff Office's said a suicide case is now closed, despite the suspicions of the victim's family.
Last week, Geneva Green's family told WRAL they felt evidence in her death pointed to murder, not suicide. Family members claim deputies found the gun in Green's right hand, but Green's family was told that the exit wound was on Green's right temple.
Person County Sheriff Dennis Oakley said, after consulting with the medical examiner, that Green did shot herself in the head. Officials said the bullet lodged in the door of her van.
