State Seeks For Death Penalty Against Raleigh Murder Suspect

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The State is asking for the death penalty for a man accused in the murder of a Raleigh restaurant employee last September.

Deon Partridge is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Donald Kersey.

Kersey, 22, was shot and killed during a robbery attempt at a north Raleigh Sonic drive-in.

A judge ruled Monday that Partridge is mentally fit to stand trial.

Three others charged in the robbery are expected to go on trial later this year.
