Fayetteville Officer Involved In Wreck

FAYETTEVILLE — Two people, including a Fayetteville police officer, were treated for injuries following a head-on collision Sunday at the intersection of McLamb and Murchison roads.

Fayetteville police said Officer John McBride was traveling down Murchison Road when Peggy Johnson made a left turn in front of him, causing the collision.

The K-9 officer's car ran off the road and hit a fence.

McBride and Johnson were treated for minor injuries and released from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.The dog inside the K-9 unit was not injured.

Johnson received a citation for unsafe movement.
