Prosecutors Will Not Press Charges In Alleged Raleigh Police Brutality Case

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County prosecutors will not press charges against two people who scuffled with Raleigh police over a parking ticket.

Rosa Lee, 40, and police officers were videotaped in February, tumbling into the street.

Police charged Lee with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Moments later, police took down her nephew, who was also charged.

Lee filed a complaint of excessive force with the department. As a result, one officer was suspended for three days.

The police department released the tape to WRAL Wednesday because the case is now considered closed.
