DURHAM, N.C. — Durham City Manager Marcia Conner will not receive a raise for her work this year.
The Durham City Council voted unanimously Monday against giving her an annual performance bonus. In their review of Conner, city leaders decided that she only "met expectations" in running the city over the past year.
Conner came under fire last year because of how she handled the search for a police chief and because of mishandled city contracts.
Conner awarded one contract to a former co-worker in Austin, Texas, instead of opening it up to competitive bidding.
