Erosion To Blame For Loss Of Raleigh Homeowner's Land

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — After recent heavy rains in the Triangle, flooding is the only problem plaguing residents.

In Raleigh, 20 feet of David Freeze's back yard has eroded away. He also said he lost a tractor, a fence and several trees after Friday night's rain. His home sits on a dam and a poorly constructed spillway.

Legally, Freeze and other property owners are responsible for paying cleanup costs.

However, Raleigh leaders are checking to see if the city should get involved to better control stormwater and flooding.
