Stolen Truck Slams Into Wilson Landmark During Chase

Posted Updated

WILSON, N.C. — A Wilson landmark needs repairs following a high-speed chase.

It all ended when a stolen truck slammed into the Freeman Round House Museum. The driver ran from the scene and has not been caught.

The Freeman museum building was built in 1946 by the son of a former slave. Last year, the city turned the building into a showplace for African-American exhibits.

There is still no estimate on the damages from Monday morning's crash.
