Fremont Police Chief Arrested For DWI

Posted Updated

FREEMONT, N.C. — A local police chief is on the wrong side of the law.

Troopers arrested Fremont Police Chief Terry Grant for driving while intoxicated Friday in Wilson County.

Grant is the second Fremont police chief accused of drunken driving. His predecessor, Floyd Hobbs, resigned in August 2001 after two DWI charges.

Grant is still on the job. The town council plans to talk about the situation in a closed-door meeting Tuesday.
