Three Injured After Car Hits Tractor-Trailer Along I-95 In Nash County

NASH COUNTY, N.C. — Three people were injured after a wreck involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Nash County Thursday.

Authorities said the wreck happened at 5:50 p.m. at mile marker 142 when the driver of the car failed to slow down as he merged with traffic, rear-ending the tractor-trailer.

Front-seat passenger Amanda Long, of Columbus, Ga., was airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She is listed in critical condition.

The driver, Daniel Jennings, 22, and passenger Ashley Page, 17, were transported to Nash General Hospital.Their conditions are known.

Jennings was charged with careless and reckless driving.
