BENSON, N.C. — The streets of Johnston County could be a little bit safer thanks to a new program.
Deputies set up a checkpoint in Benson that targets drunk and aggressive drivers. So far, they have issued 61 citations for a number of offenses, including DWI, felony drug charges and driving with a revoked license.
Besides checkpoints, deputies will also step up patrols in areas known for drug activity.
