FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police were called to the

M.J. Soffe

plant Friday morning to investigate an incident between a company employee and her ex-boyfriend.

According to authorities, the incident happened at 11:36 a.m. A man identified as Shane Peoples was chasing his ex-girlfriend, Linda Jones, an employee of M.J. Soffe, in the parking lot of the plant.

Jones reportedly ran into the business, using her badge to get in. Peoples punched through some safety glass in a window, causing what witnesses called "gun-like" sounds, and injured himself. He then went to his car to try and leave but had a flat tire.

Authorities said Peoples was trying to change the tire while bleeding profusely from his arm. M.J. Soffe security personnel detained him until Fayetteville police showed up.

Peoples will be charged with tresspassing and damage to property.

The plant is a clothing manufacturer, specializing in sportswear, athletic apparel and casual wear.
