CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — A man who did not even have a driver's license pled guilty Monday in a hit-and-run accident that killed a 9-year-old.
Little Martin Calderon died in April. He was hit while riding his scooter in front of his aunt's Chatham County home.
Timothy Pendergrass pled guilty Monday to several charges in the accident, including driving with a revoked license. He lost his right to drive permanently after a string of DWI's.
The judge sentenced Pendergrass to at least eight months in prison and ordered him to pay the family's funeral expenses.
