Wake Judge Orders Defendant Be Restrained During Trial

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man on trial for the attempted murder of his previous attorney was brought into a Wake County courtroom masked and restrained Wednesday.

Willie Forrest III is accused of punching his lawyer, who suffered a fractured skull, in a previous trial.

Forrest was restrained in a wheelchair and had to wear netting over his head because he spit at a detention guard Tuesday.

The judge ruled Forrest will have to remain in the restraints throughout his trial.

Forrest said he does not deserve it.
