Durham Police Investigate Homicide On Angier Avenue

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 1000 block of Angier Avenue.

Officers found 17-year-old David Lamont Cox ofFidelity Drive lying in the street shortly before 2 p.m. Cox suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were looking for two possible suspects. One is described as a dark-complected black male, 17 to 20 years old, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and 130 to 150 pounds. He was wearing a gray shirt.

The second suspect is described as a dark-complected black male, 17 to 20 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a blue shirt with short sleeves and blue jeans.

The motive for the shooting was not known.
