Durham Dentist Upset Over Allegation In Mike Peterson Trial

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Thanks to the Mike Peterson trial, a Durham dentist finds himself on the offensive.

Nearly five years ago, Dr. Curtis Bowens' dentist office on Linwood Avenue burned down. The fire came up during cross-examination in the Peterson trial.

Durham police believe the fire was the act of angry drug dealers.

However, assistant District Attorney Freda Black suggested in open court that Bowens may have set the fire himself.

Bowens told WRAL he fully cooperated with the fire marshal and says it is unfair for Black to attack him on national television.
