Cary Residents May Soon Have To Pay More For Cable

Posted Updated

CARY, N.C. — It could cost some people in Cary more to watch cable TV.

The Federal Communications Commission says the town cannot regulate cable rates any longer.

Federal law lets cable providers set their own rates if there is enough competition from other providers, such as satellite.

The ruling may open the door for a possible rate hike. However, a

Time Warner

representative says the company does not plan to increase its rates.
