Durham Police Seek Bank Robbers

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are looking for two men who robbed Cardinal State Bank at 5309 Highgate Drive on Thursday.

No one was injured.

According to police, the men -- armed with handguns -- entered the bank around 1:45 p.m. and demanded money from the tellers. There were no customers in the bank at the time.

The men fled with an undisclosed amount of money. They were last seen in a red or burgundy GMC sport utility vehicle, which was driven by a third man.

One robber is described as an African-American man in his late 20s or early 30s with a dark complexion, 5 feet 10 inches tall and approximately 175 pounds. He was wearing sunglasses, a burgundy long-sleeve dress shirt, khaki pants, a khaki-colored tango-style hat with a brim around it and a drawstring that ties under the neck.

Witnesses said he had acne on his face and chin and may have a mustache.

The second robber is described as an African-American male in his late 20s or early 30s with a dark complexion. He was 5 feet 10 inches tall and had a large build. He was wearing a mask and a yellow plaid shirt with red and blue checks on it.
