RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities are investigating the details of an apparent drowning at Kerr Lake.
The Granville County Sheriff's Office said two men were swimming from a boat dock around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday when one of the men, 18-year-old Alonzo Hicks, failed to resurface from the water.
Granville authorities responded to the lake. More than a hour later, Hicks' body was found approximately 15 feet from the dock.
Authorities say preliminary indications suggest it was an accidental drowning. Authorities are still conducting their investigation.
