Bulls Shut Out Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — Delvin James and two relievers held Richmond to four hits as the Durham Bulls beat the Braves, 3-0, Saturday in the International League.
James (3-4) has allowed one earned run in the last 20 innings. In seven innings Saturday, he allowed two hits and a walk and struck out three.
Lee Gardner earned his 19th save, despite allowing a pair of two-out hits in the ninth.
Richmond starter Andy Pratt threw six shutout innings with eight strikeouts. He has a league-leading 114 strikeouts on the season.
Travis Phelps (5-3) began the seventh for the Braves and was greeted by a single by ex-Brave George Lombard. Lombard was forced out at second by Brooks Badeaux, who eventually scored on a double by Ryan Jackson.
Jeff Liefer led off the eighth with his first homer. The final Bulls run came on Jared Sandberg's single in the ninth.
The Bulls have won 11 of their last 13 games. The Braves have dropped 14 of 17 at home.
