Vaccine Supply 'Outstanding' Before Flu Season Starts

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Supplies of flu vaccine should be plentiful this year, the state health director said Wednesday.

Dr. Leah Devlin described the vaccine supply for the upcoming flu season as "outstanding," noting 100 million doses will be available across the U.S. She said she doesn't yet know how many of those doses would make it to North Carolina.

This year's vaccine is designed to fight off three flu strains, and physician offices and county health departments should be getting their supplies soon, Devlin said.
