DURHAM, N.C. — The driver of a church bus that overturned Sunday morning with nearly 20 students on board was charged Monday in connection with the accident.
Durham police charged Troy Weaver with failure to maintain lane control.
Weaver was taking 19 children to United Pentecostal Church when he lost control of the bus and overturned at the corner of East Greer Street and Junction Road in Durham.
Several children were taken to a local hospital, but all were treated and released by Sunday evening. Weaver was recovering from shoulder surgery Monday morning.
