RALEIGH, N.C. -- — A Raleigh police officer is recovering from minor injuries after a Sunday-morning accident in North Raleigh.
The officer was going to the scene of an accident just after 2 a.m. Sunday when he collided with a vehicle near the intersection of
Capital Boulevard and Calvary Drive
.
Investigators said the officer, whose name was not released, had his lights and siren on when he drove through the red light. He hit a car that was going through the intersection.
No one was seriously injured, and the accident remained under investigation Sunday morning.
The officer was responding to an accident less than a mile away at the intersection of Spring Forest and Capital Boulevard. There were minor injuries in that wreck.
