DURHAM, N.C. — A series of medical calls created confusion on the campus of North Carolina Central University late Saturday afternoon.

Authorities said the calls came in simultaneously during a high school Battle of the Bands competition at the school. A total of six students needed medical help.

One student suffered an asthma attack and was taken to the hospital. Several others suffered from heat-related problems. The problems did not delay the competition.
