WELDON, N.C. — An employee-appreciation luncheon in Halifax County left some workers sick, authorities said.
County Manager Matthew Delk said seven of the more than 400 employees who attended the event required minor medical attention.
State health officials are now looking into the cause of the sickness. Laboratory tests have been conducted, but the results aren't yet ready.
