Durham 911 Restored After Technical Glitch

DURHAM, N.C. — A technical glitch that shut down Durham County's 911 emergency system for more than five hours was fixed late Monday night.

Emergency calls were rerouted to an administrative number while Verizon worked to determine the cause of the problem. Service was restored shortly after 10:30 p.m.
