<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — Residents in Scotland Neck and surrounding areas in Halifax County remains under a water advisory after a water main break.

Town leaders said the order could be lifted sometime this week.

State officials are concerned about bacteria in the water supply. Restaurants in the area were forced to close.

According to the Sampson County Sheriff's Office, a school resource officer discovered the body of a man inside a vehicle at Hobbton Middle School athletic field. Authorities believe the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
