NASHVILLE, TENN. — Wilson County Sheriff Wayne Gay was sworn in as president of the National Sheriff's Association Wednesday.
North Carolina's Andy Griffith performed the ceremony.
As president of the Sheriff's Association, Gay said he wants to create new legislation that will improve security locally and nationally.
Gay is currently serving his sixth term as Wilson County's sheriff.
