Security Changes Made At Northampton Courthouse

Posted Updated

JACKSON, N.C. — There are security changes at the Northampton County courthouse.

In July, inmate Willie Forest grabbed a correctional officer's gun and went on a shooting spree, wounding an officer in the shoulder. Another officer shot and killed Forrest.

Now, the Superior Courtroom has only one entrance past the bailiff.

In addition, the building's locks were improved to make it easier for people inside to get out quickly.
