Posted Updated

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — Holly Springs police are advising caution for customers at automatic teller machines in light of a robbery last Friday in the parking lot of a local shopping center.

A man who had what appeared to be a gun, police said, robbed a teenaged girl using the ATM at Oak Hall Shopping Center shortly before noon. The girl was not injured.

No arrests have been made. The robber is believed to be in his early 20s and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and baggy jeans. He also wore what the victim described as a towel around his head and might have been driving a black Ford pickup truck with an extended cab, authorities said.

After the robbery, witnesses told police that the man had been loitering near the ATM for at least a couple of hours before the alleged holdup.

Anyone who might have seen the perpetrator or have information about the holdup is asked to contact Holly Springs police at
