IBM's Virtualization Product Wins Top Honors At LinuxWorld

Posted Updated

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. — IBM's Advanced Power Virtualization product earned first place honors as best virtualization solution by Linux Journal at the LinuxWorld tradeshow this week.

Virtualization enables servers that normally support one application to run multiple programs in isolation from each other, thus helping companies maximize use of servers.

The IBM Advanced Power Virtualization product is a virtualization engine designed to run on IBM Power servers. The product is designed to help reduce costs by improving server utilization, increase speed by enabling the rapid re-allocation of resources to run applications as needed, and simplify systems management by making workloads independent of hardware resources.
