Law Enforcement Associates Signs Licensing Deal With Smith & Wesson

YOUNGSVILLE, N.C. — Law Enforcement Associates

has signed a licensing agreement with Smith & Wesson under which that company's well-known global name will be used with some LEA products.

The first two products to be covered include LEA's explosive detection kit and a portab;e under-vehicle inspection system.

Financial details were not disclosed.

"Smith & Wesson is one of the world's most recognized and respected brands, particularly within th security and law enforcement industries," said Paul Feldman, LEA's president. "While LEA has established strong relationships and awareness within our traditional target markets, our presence is less known within a variety of ancillary industries that we believe represent major opportunities for LEA. We are confident the legendary Smith & Wesson brand will give us important leverage as we work to build market share in sectors such as private security, public transit and facilities management."

Smith & Wesson said the deal will help the company "become a leader in safety, security, protection and sport."
