Elsevier MDL provides integrated discovery informatics, chemical sourcing and logistics for life science and chemical firms.
Elsevier MDL will integrated its MDL logistics materials management solution with SciQuest's Spend Director supplier management product. The goal is to provide an integrated e-procurement and supply chain management offering.
"Procurement integration and supplier enablement are critical components of a complete R&D logistics solution and are important requirements that are raised again and again by customers," said Trevor Heritage, senior vice president and chief scientific officer of Elsevier MDL.
"The SciQuest partnership is an exciting first step towards developing a complete, end-to-end logistics solution for chemistry researchers, one that supports the research workflow, simplifies the procurement experience and lowers costs by supporting on-contract spending," he added. "No other commercial vendors currently provide this mix of critical capabilities."
