WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Roadwork tied up traffic around Saturday night's big Kenny Chesney concert at Alltel Pavilion.
The Department of Transportation rerouted traffic along a stretch of Interstate 40 in Johnston County. Crews closed one westbound lane between Highway 70 and Highway 42. The other lane was blocked off at 10 p.m.
Westbound traffic was shifted onto an eastbound lane. Everything should be back to normal by noon Sunday.
Pavement repairs are also slowing down traffic on Interstate 540 through Sunday.
Only one lane of traffic is open in both directions around the Lumley Road exit. DOT closed lanes early Saturday morning. Weather permitting, the work is expected to last until Sunday at 6 p.m.
