Cumberland County Officials Seek Fugitive

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Fayetteville police, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshal Service are looking for a former Green Beret charged with having sex with a child.

Jerry Richard Windom, 52, is wanted for two counts of first-degree kidnapping, one count of statutory rape and one count of first-degree sex offense with a child.

Windom has been wanted for these offenses since July 2002. His last known address for Windom was 6111 Codes Ridge Road, Raleigh, and has been known to frequent the Garner area, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Windom was a police officer for two years with the Chadbourn Police Department.

Anyone with information should call the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at (910) 323-1500, the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1911, U.S. Marshal Service at (919) 645-1790 or the Fayetteville/Cumberland Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by Crimestoppers for information leading to Windom's arrest
