Workers Remain In Limbo, Hope To Be Rehired At Kinston Plant

Hundreds of workers who lost their jobs after a plant explosion hope West Pharmaceuticals will rehire them if and when the plant reopens.

A massive fire destroyed the Kinston plant in January that killed six workers and injured dozen more.

Today the building is still only a shell, but the community believes the factory will reopen on a new site, possibly in a few months.

About 100 workers are still surviving on unemployment checks.

Another 100 workers left last February to work at plants in Nebraska and Florida.
