Raleigh Police Arrest Alleged Prank Caller

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police officers arrested a prank caller allegedly accused of creating quite a scare.

Shortly after 11 p.m., several police officers were dispatched to the Waffle House on Hillsborough Street after receiving a call that an officer was shot.

Authorities later learned that it was a fake call.

Officers on the scene told WRAL the same man, who police identified as Angelo Breedn, called in a robbery nearby, which they say did not happen.

Breeden was released from the Wake County Jail late Wednesday afternoon on a written promise to appear in court. That court date, however, was not immediately known.
