DURHAM, N.C. — The Mike Peterson murder trial is just one person away from opening arguments.
Attorneys decided Tuesday on two more alternate jurors, a 37-year-old white female who is an IT manager and a 47-year-old white male nurse at Duke.
One more juror is needed before opening arguments can begin. Officials say opening arguments may come on June 30.
Peterson is charged with the death of his wife, Kathleen, at their Durham home in December 2001.
Part of the prosecution left for Germany Tuesday to investigate the death of Elizabeth Ratliff, a friend of Peterson who died nearly 20 years ago in a similar way that Kathleen Peterson died.
