Durham Police Investigate Fatal Shooting On North Roxboro Road

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police
are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on North Roxboro Road late Thursday.
Officers were dispatched to 2410 North Roxboro Road around 11 p.m. When they arrived, they found Tovaris Moore, 22, of Keystone Place lying in the driveway. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Moore and a companion were attempting to rob a man at gunpoint when the man's brother intervened. Police said all four men started to run and a shot was fired, striking Moore. Investigators are still trying to determine who fired the shot and how the shooting occurred.
No charges have been filed at this time.
