APEX, N.C. — Jordan Lake officials were turning people away from the park Tuesday afternoon after parking lots reached maximum capacity and parking along nearby roadways reached dangerous conditions.
Lots filled up fast leaving park goers to park their vehicles on nearby U.S. Highway 64.
Not only is it unsafe to park along the side of a highway, the North Carolina Highway Patrol, said, it is illegal.
Troopers began citing motorists and towing vehicles Tuesday afternoon, leaving some without transportation from the park.
