One Killed, One Injured In Accident Near N.C. State

RALEIGH, N.C. — One person was killed and another injured Monday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident near North Carolina State University'S main campus.

Investigators said that the driver, Abel Perez Dominguez, 35, was headed west on Western Boulevard toward the Interstate 440 Beltline when he apparently lost control of the SUV, went into the median and then went back over to the right side of the road before crashing into the trees.

The passenger, Esteban Salinas Sandobal, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene. Dominguez was transported to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Dominguez faces several charges, including involuntary manslaughter, driving with a revoked license, careless and reckless driving and driving while impaired.
