DURHAM, N.C. — The daughter of Durham Police Chief Steve Chalmers faces more charges.
Stefanie Chalmers was arrested Tuesday on assault charges. At the time, the officer did not realize she was wanted on other charges.
On Thursday, it was determined there were two outstanding criminal summonses for worthless checks dating back to 2003. The 25-year-old has now been served.
A press release from the Durham Police Department and City Manager's Office said the chief's daughter will not receive any preferential treatment.
