FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man is now charged with murder in a deadly car accident.
Police say Gregory Barnes was driving drunk last month when he rear-ended a pickup truck in Fayetteville. Barnes spoke with WRAL the day of the accident.
He told WRAL he made a terrible mistake and a bad decision. Police say four people were in the pickup that was struck by Barnes. One of them, a mother of six, died in the accident.
Police initially cited Barnes for DWI. This week, they added several charges, including second-degree murder.
