Darnel, which is the U.S. subsidiary of Ajover S.A. in Colombia, will receive a $100,000 One North Carolina Fund grant as an incentive to build the plant in Union County.
One North Carolina fund grants require at least a local match.
Average wages will be $593 plus benefits, Easley's office said.
"Darnel has chosen Union County as the location for our new manufacturing facility because of its ease of distribution access and the availability of skilled workers," said Walt Harfmann, the firm's general manager. "We have been very pleased with the cooperative spirit of the economic development personnel of North Carolina, Union County and the city of Monroe. We look forward to being a productive member of an outstanding community."
Participating in the plant recruiting effort were the N.C. Department of Commerce, Union County, the Union County Partnership for Progress, the City of Monroe, the North Carolina Community College System and Duke Energy.
