FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville's Festival of Flight is over, but a new challenge is just beginning.
The executive board met Friday to come up with a strategic plan to raise money. The meeting was not open to the media.
With lower-than-expected attendance, the festival is reportedly in the red about $250,000.
Professional fundraisers say the group has a big challenge ahead of them. They say it is very difficult to raise money after an event is over because the contributor does not have a lot to gain.
Capitol Broadcasting Co., which owns WRAL-TV, was the major media sponsor for the event.
