HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — State medical examiners have solved the mystery behind a woman's death.
According to preliminary autopsy results, Mary Cabe died of a cocaine overdose.
Investigators said the 37-year-old Cabe crashed her car on Sadler Road, just off I-95., near Dunn Feb. 27. Witnesses saw Cabe walking away from the scene, but that was the last time anyone saw her alive.
Her boyfriend reported her missing eight days later. Her body was found three days after that -- 11 days after the crash -- in a field just a few hundred yards from the crash scene.
